I was *told* that the brake fade I was experiencing last track day may be due to the caliper design on my 2006 1000.

That Yamaha R6 front calipers are a bolt on fit (exact fit) but are monoblock design.

1. True?

2. What year R6 calipers are compatible??? That is the 24K $ question!

thanks!

I know this is old, but I'll answer it.

ANY radial yamaha 4 piston calipers (not the newer 6 pistons from the R1) will fit.

Ideally you will want a tiny spacer, about 2.5mm. Talk to Zoran at http://www.twfracing.com/zparts.html

Here is a direct link to the part http://www.twfracing.com/images/zparts/R6 caliper spacers 003 bg.jpg

I am running Those calipers and master on my bike and I LOVE them.

FWIW the new gsx-r1000 uses monoblock calipers that should bolt right on as well.

Also, the new CBR (I think only the 1000) uses a monoblock caliper, but you'll need to figure out what spacers to use.
