Or is it just a $200 oil change? This K8 Gixxer 1000 is my first new bike. Should I really go and have the dealer do the initial maintenance? I have no problem changing my own oil... What else do they REALLY do? Is it worth it?

Look in your manual and it should tell you everything that needs to be done. It's really just changing the oil, oil filter, shootin some white lithium grease around the pegs/rearsets, making sure all your nuts and bolts are tight. Long story short, don't take it to the stealership just DIY and save your receipts.

Just download the service manual and do it yourself. Dont let the stealership rip ya off.

Lotsa time and money save by doing it yourself. And you will learn more while doing it when you run into the little this you didnt think of in the first place

Like others have said, I think all they really do for the first maintnance is change the oil and make sure all your nuts and bolts are still right.
