I appologise if this question has been answered in a previous forum.

Here's what I'm looking to do: I have a 2000 GSXR 750 that recently went to battle head to head with a deer. Front and rear fairing brackets are bent. I'm wondering if I can install a newer front and/or rear fairing? Any feedback on this topic would be much appreciated!

u would have to basically use the fairings that are made for ur year bike, the tail canuse the 04/05 but u will need to also get the rear subframe to pull the swap off.

That's good, because my rear fairing bracket (sub frame) is bent and will need to be changed out as well.
Does anyone know if that same concept applies to the front fairing?

you can do a full 04/05 swap but you'll need 04/05 front fairing stay, headlight, rear subframe and all plastics at the least. Not sure if the harness is the same or not.

I know that the ECU's are different. 04/05 is when they switched the ECU to the current style. Hence why the GSXR tune doesnt tune older ECU's than 04. Not sure if that will impact your rebuild, but thought I'd put that info out there.

I'm pretty sure I can get around the wire harness as long as i have a wire schematic for the 04-05. I can understand why I'd need the side fairings in order for everything to match up, but will the bolts match up? Also, still wondering if the brackets will interchange.

I have officially began the process by stripping my 2000 GSXR 750 down and ordering the 04 brackets for the fairing swap. After long research I've realized some modification will be needed, but believe it can be pulled off. I'll keep posting for anyone that might be interested or for anyone that could offer any info. Peace.

This past weekend one of my good friends and I were able to look over the main frame, swing arm, and front forks. All are still straight and in line. Today, the day was spent looking for and listing out the items needed for the transformation. I've ordered all the necessary components for the conversion today as well. Looks like the entire conversion will cost around $2500 with some custom parts. Delivery is my worst enemy and so time consuming.. Thank you for those interested in the conversion. I will keep posting with photos and details so anyone looking to do the same has some type of guideline.

As for the actual swap im not sure how it was done, but i do know there is a 02 750 for sale locally with 04/05 fairings and lights, so i imagine its not that hard if you have the knowledge, and im wondering about the 2500 dollar costs also, i hope your not buying new parts from the dealer

The $2500 set back includes of coarse the fairings $500-600, front upper stay bracket $75, left and right ram air duct $140, tail light $75, Headlight $200, windscreen $85, rear seat cover cowl $50, front seat $70, and finally the tank $200 (as long as I can get it to work). Not to include the cost for an aluminum welding specialist and for the tank to be painted. I may have thrown in some of the custom/aftermarket items in the price.

For the swap looking at around $1700-$2000

Parts are slowly trickling in. Mostly repair parts from the head to head contact with a deer.

*Currently received the front upper stay bracket and only modification needed was cutting the tab in between the two mounting points. Bolts up perfectly!

*Received the 04 tank today, and as I expected its not a perfect match. Looks like I might be able to get away with an 04 air box lid and maybe some minor mods. Will keep you informed.
