Have any of you discovered the great ability of doing a full oil change without having to remove any fairings? If you reach in from the right side of the bike, on the lower part where the open spot of the X fairing piece meets the lower fairing, undo the filter, you're able to pull the filter out of that same hole. I have enough room in there to even go in with a rag afterwards and clean up oil drips. :thumbup:

yup, on older 600s its not so easy. i had to loosen part of the fairing to get to it, but newer bikes you no longer have to do that!

And to really be in the upper echelon of changing oil,. use a piece of aluminum foil over your header, with ears wrapped aorund the outside pipes, slightly coned with a hole in the middle and VIOLA!! No oil on your header! No fuss, no muss, no oil stench afterwards! :thumbup:
