I thought it was kinda depressing I finally hit 3k miles on my bike... It is officially two years old now, and still hardly have time to ride it. And won't be getting much time this year either, gonna be on the rode for work atleast the next 6 months straight, then a short stint back in Houston, then right back out the door to another city!

Since it had been sitting for so long, and one of my frame sliders fell off on my last trip (thanks K's! LOL) took it up to Motorcycles Unlimited for an oil change and just to get everything checked out like fluids chain, tires, and so forth. I have to say, I was very impressed with the staff and level of service, will definitely go back. Got some new sliders put on, and went out for a good ride. On the way home coming south on 45 right around the woodlands mall, a guy comes up next to me with an older R1 (not sure what year, not good at telling) and started to jump a little here and there wanting to run.

I couldn't resist... I rarely get to ride the bike let alone ride it hard. I only downshifted to 4th and took off and left him. Let him catch back up and I started in 3rd this time and it was even worse. :) I'm pretty proud of my little 600, it would beat my friends 02 gsxr1k rolling from 30-130ish till he would finally pull me good.

Been awhile since I rode and posted, just thought I'd share my fun.

dont feel bad my 07 I bought new only has 3500 miles. I drive it almost everyday back and forth to work but im only 6 miles from the office.
Hehe, you may have a short ride, but atleast you get to hop on it and go frequently. :)

I'm trying to arrange a ride with a good friend I use to work with, but the guy is SUPER difficult to get a hold of. And figures, just looked at weather.com and 30% chance of rain Sat and 40% Sun :(
There goes the idea of washing and waxing both car and bike.

I don't have the option unfortunately do use mine as a daily driver. I would probably fall victim like many others to theft. If I knew I could safely park it at the Park&Ride when I ride bus in to work, or at the airport for when I go out of town I would. Airport though can't really do anyway, lol got to much clothes and equipment.

Hopefully when this project is done I'm working on, I will remain in Houston permanently, and have a lot more opportunities to ride.

Me too. I was even more happy to know everything looked good on the bike still from sitting so much. I looked in the tank after I parked it Sunday, and didn't see any rust forming or anything. I had prob about a gallon left in the tank. Should I put some lucas gas treatment in it to stabilize it? It could very well sit for another month or two till I hop back on her. (LOL)

I'm not quite sure how to tell when I'm in need of new tires. Advice? :)
