has anyone had this issue. bike died when riding and does not restart. battery is dead. i charge the battery and test the stator at 5k rpm im getting around 57-60v i replaced the rectifier and as soon as i plug in the wiring harness it pops the main fuse. is it the rectifier, or is there other demons and issues . i have inspected the wiring and all pigtails and wires look good. ?? any help would be great

Welcome to the forum.

I'm 95% sure your R/R is bad (shorted). I'm not sure what you mean by "replaced".

Did you check AC voltage output of stator at 5000rpm across the 3 phases (3 readings)? Iirc, should be at least 65VAC with no more than 10% difference between readings.

Resistance of each winding should be around 0.2 ohms and no connectivity between each winding and ground. If all these tests are good, it is undoubtedly the r/r.

50-60v ! ? ! Hope that didn't fry the ECM in the process.
Or were you testing on the stator side of the regulator? Should be testing for voltage output of the whole system at the battery.
