Just lost my gsxr 09 from my condo's parking lot, those scumbags thieves are getting bolder and bolder as they snatched one bicycle+one bike from me and another person bike all from same parking lot. seems like they will someday will do an home invasion. seriously considering about arming myself.

the zip code is 94538.

i filed a police report and not much hope of getting ever back. those cops are just there for nothing.
what are the statistics of chance of getting lost bike back?
it has been a real bad day. Thanks!

There are regional forums on here if you scroll down towards the bottom of the forums page. I meant other sites. Google and join motorcycle sites in your area and post it there.

wow that sucks!!

last year someone came in my yard and stole my step son's mini bike and they decided to turn on my bike's leds while there, I did some foot work(streets talk!) and found out who it was and made sure a "message" got to him basically saying you got that one but come around again and see what happens.... so if something happens to my bike this year I know exactly where I will be heading first! besides that I have installed cameras and motion sensors all around my house, now if a cat creeps thru my yard at 2:54am I know right away, LOL kind of sucks but I love my baby!....side note I was glad the minibike got stole, the kid had NO sense on that thing, running right out in traffic almost getting hit left and right and he's freaking 13!

good luck getting her back! I hope the best for you.

Damn that sucks sir. Unless your bike is sentimental to you , forget about her . You more than likely will not want her back . It's likely in all kinds of pieces right now . Insurance is your best friend , hope it was covered.

Sorry to hear that. My boy had his stolen when it was parked in front of his apt garage and it was chained to a pillar. I hope they get caught with your bike and end up in jail and have to pay restitution to your loss.

Sport bike parked outside of an apartment complex is a bad combination. Insurance?
it was a condo which used to be an apartment with the gated entry to parking lot. I used to park inside the parking garage but thieves will got inside anyways somehow. I heard motorcycles being stolen in the past from the same parking lot but did not expect quite one day it will be stolen like it as there are many bikes around this area.

Despite being 2009 it had only 2000 miles and i havent even gotten the first service done. I used to cover it but lately got lazy and left it uncovered. I doubted this made difference.

Insurance deductable is another 2000$ and after i might get around 70% of how much i paid if they price it inline with blue book price. It was rather expensive purchase because it was virtually new and had only less than 1k miles on it. All in all i might be able to recover about half of its value. I doubt I will purchase anything with that unless i move to some other place and got personalized secured garage which means it will be a while.

Make sure the insurance company knows that the bike has such low milage and was in the condition that was in. That certainly will affect your loss, and your compensation

yeah still grievance is not quite over, I will tell them about the bike's condition. Whenever i talk to mu buddies about how it lost and how we had good times, it makes my cringe. Makes me sick whenever, if i run into 'em in the act (not likely), it feelis like I wont hesitate to shoot 'em or at the least do a warning shot.

I know this kind of thing is legal in texas, where you can kill your robber and walk away, not sure how the law is in california haha.

Screw that. I hope one of the assholes who stole it takes a header over the clip-ons into an oncoming dump truck.. I fucking hate thieves.

that would not be enough if it happens without your knowing. You'd need some at least some sort of satisfaction in knowing that it happened to your thief.

Too bad mate. There's no words that can quench your anger or make things any better...

Don't let this deter you from riding however...Once the dust settles, see if one of your friends or family can take on storage for your next bike, so you can at least go out for week-end blasts. They don't take-up too much room at all in anyone's garage.

All the best,

Rastus

Well finally got the insurance payout received. Full price of bike + title fee - 2000$ deductable, that was not bad considering how bad it could have been had i not covered. I think I am going to go bikeless for sometime until i found some solution to my parking problem. Meantime, i either should cancel the coverage or somehow if there is any provision to carry on with my insurance with much reduced fee because there is nothing to insure at this point. I am wondering which one'd be better. Do i have to buy a equal value motorcycle soon with the payout? I'd consider highly to carry on with insurance with reduced rate so that in case I buy a bike later, it would not incur higher re-instantiation fee or something like that. Thanks!

Sucks about your ride being stolen! Even though I have a house and my bikes are parked in the garage, I'm always paranoid about someone breaking in and stealing my stuff. I can't imagine how violated I would feel which is why I also have locks anchoring them down and security cameras and alarm all around my house.

I do feel thieves are more brazen now as I'm seeing on the news more break ins during the day even when home owners are home. Which is why I am armed as well. I guess my time back in the Marines have instilled the feeling to always protect my shit and loved ones.

Anyways I'm glad insurance took care of you. But I definitely think you should sort out your bike storage situation before picking up another one. Otherwise it's just going to happen again. Condo/ apartment parking are shopping grounds for motorcycle thieves.

i really want to get another one and same one, already see on CL there is a 2008 model at half the price, it might not be as good as the one i had but definitely was great. the only problem is thre is no guarantee i am not going to lose it again, seriously need to resolve my parking safety situation, sucks to see not much option available.
