Starting to look !!

What is the average miles that are put on a bike per year?

How much is too much?

Is there a max mileage for a used bike, where you wouldn't touch it.....(ie, 2000 Gixxer w/90000)

What is considered HIGH mileage on a bike, What kind of deduction would come off the price.

hmm, well for me, when i waas lookin for a bike to buy...i didn't want more than 5000 miles a year on a bike, i bought mine last year in aug 29th, it was an 02 gixxer with only 7400 miles on it.

dunno whats considered high for a bike. But if you think about it, cars on average they say should have 12k a year (something you wanna look at when shopping for a used car). But now on a bike, which is usually bought after someone has a car, so its not there daily commuter, i'm guessing the num should be a lot lower. So i say..maybe 5-7k a year on a bike.

Well with that info i will use an average of 4500/year. be a safe bet.

I found a 2000 600 GSXR for $3200 but it has 30,000 miles on it...Little high, must be active rider and it's from ohio so it was not ridden 365 a year

i've put 13k miles on my bike in less than a year, we don't have a 365 riding year here either. i got my bike in april and haven't been able to ride for like 2 months atleast.

for that price, and that many miles and that year, you can find a better deal.

I see like 02 600s go for around 5, milage depends 7-12k on em. I got mine at a dealership for 6400, it was an 02 with 7200 miles on it, i coulda easily paid less if i went private party, but i needed the financing.

I have seen bikes with 2000 miles and it was the worst 2k miles of the bike lives and seen some that have 20000 and strictly babied the bike so you will have to inspect your self. take a friend when looking.

I Would Expect About 5000 Per Yr But Like They Said Look It Over Good Ride It Make Sure It Is Not Been Doged Or Has Problems , I Bought My 2000 600 For 3800 And It Only Had 10000 Miles On It , Afew Scraches But Nothing Big And It Runs Fine So Just Look Them Over But Keep In Mind You Can Keep Looking If You Are Not Happy Dont Buy It Just Because You Can Not Wait To Get A Bike And This One Looks Good You Knw

Normally I put between 5k and 10k a year. I don't have year round riding weather and I don't ride to work too much. I mostly ride Thurs-Sun. We have long Sunday rides. If you look at a map of Alabama, start in Birmingham, go to Onteonta (sp?) Then up to Huntsville, then to Decatur, then Moulton, then Double Springs, then Jasper then back to Birmingham. That is an example of one of our Sunday rides. It is basically the top half of the state. We rode somewhere around 600 miles that day. I can't wait to do it this year.

I don't think Kelly Blue Book is in Texas...my 2002 GSXR-600, 30,000+ miles and has never seen a dealership after purchase. That also includes about 30+ trackdays. Oil gets changed before and after every trackday with monthly oil changes in the off season.
