Hy guys,

Can someone help me out with something? I maybe buying a 2008 gix 1000 with a little bit of fairing damage. The bike has all the official documents so it wasn't stolen.

There's one problem, the guy doesn't have the keys anymore (reseller) and all the euro models have a chipped key fits that particular ECU/CDI only. I've been told the US bikes don't have this anti-theft protection.

My question; Can i replace my ECU and lockset with a US one and see if she runs? or do i still need EURO ECU and keys?

Does the US keys and ECU have to be a set from the same bike?

Thanx for the help guys, and i will need some fairings to
The blue/white ones.

No, the ECU and keyset would not have to be from the same bike, on a US model. The only complication is that some of the emission specs are different between US and European models, so a US spec ECU might not be completely plug and play.
