Yesterday I decided to do a little work on the bike for the first time since Nov. I uncovered the bike and took off the seat and what did I see? About 3 dozen pealed acorns in my battery box! Looks like a squirel found a nice home for the winter. I had only planned on changing the plugs and the air filter but now I gotta go through everything and make sure that little bastard didn't chew through any wires or hoses. Anyone ever had this problem? What else should I look for? There is no nest in the air box.

were there chewed wires in your case? Could you see any damage. I haven't done a thorough inspection yet but I can't see any damage at this point.

Oh, yes... check for chewed wiring! Very big problem if squirrels, rats or bunnies find a home in your bike. That is the first thing they go for, rubber wire insulation.

Had mice build a nest in my dirt bike's airbox one year, made a hell of a mess. Luckily, I didn't have much of an electrical system to worry about. Good luck!

try a mouse nest under the wiper cowl of a ford escape. thats where the air intake for your heating/a/c is. shopping bag full of dog food and a couple dead mice make for a serious stink. lol

I'd put the ACORNS in a bowl somewhere else..........on the ground. Especially in todays economy it's probably hard for squirrels too. LOL

chewed ... thats not the word they had a feast on them! they feed the whole family on them. anyway ya take all farings off around that part.. and check wire per wire if you can. if you go the lazy way just throw in a bat. and start it up and see if everythin works... lol
