Hey all:

I have a '96 GSXR-750 with roughly 30K Miles on it.

I moved to AZ 3 years ago from WA State, where the bike has been with me since 2005.

I originally bought it brand new in Long Beach, CA and it was a GREAT daily driver, and saw craploads of riding.

Shortly after moving to WA State, I had a problem with hesitation on the freeway. If I was rolling down the road at a continuous speed / RPM, she would sputter. If I gave her a little throttle, or let off the throttle a little bit, that hesitation stopped for about another 10 miles or so. I presume it was because of the carbs, and the difference in Atmospheric Pressure.

Now that I am here in AZ, I know it's DEFINITELY going to need some assistance getting the carbs re-jetted, re-sync'd, etc.

Anyone have any good shops around here that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Or are there any clubs / folks around here who don't mind helping folks out with this that are looking to learn how to do it?

I appreciate your assistance and help in advance.

Where in AZ as long as you’re below 5K feet alt you should be good as far as jetting. Not saying you don’t need to clean the tank and the carbs make sure the diaphragms and needles and seats are good.

Yeah, I'm with Jet on this one. If it ran good in Cali, you should get away with a good cleaning, and seals. Be sure your floats are set right, and rock it. I have a '95 750 W. GREAT bikes...

Well, the problem is I don't know how to do any of that stuff!!!!

When I moved from Cali to WA State, the bike sat for about a year or so. The rear sprocket was flattened out, because the place that installed my tires I guess had it adjusted to far or something, I don't know.

So I did the 520 Conversion on it, +1/-2 (or maybe it was the other way around - gained more bottom end, and lost top end) on the front sprocket, and rode the bike. Never had the carbs cleaned, jetted, sync'd, anything.

And now moving here, I would much rather get the carbs and stuff done *before* running it again.

The bike has currently been sitting for about 4 years. So obviously, I will need to do an oil change, along with cleaning out the tank.

That's why I was asking if anyone knew of a shop around, or a club, or something, where they don't mind teaching how to do it, etc.

Hmmm, Not sure I know anyone out that way that could help you out. But I will inquire with a couple people...
