So I have a k7 1000 and when I start it up it idles at 5000rpm.. any ideas what is wrong? I have done nothing to the idle screw or anything....

Do you have a power commander on it? Does it stay exactly at 5000rpm?

no power commander.. cold its a little less around 4000 but steady 5 warm.

So finally figured it out... 07 has a recall with ecm.. corona motorsports is taking care of it... Sad thing is i bought the bike brand new from Hahm 11/08 bike sat for a year and they didnt bother to fix the recall.... LAME!

Thanks for the update, sorry I couldn't be more help. I was in Corona Motorsports this morning. Whats the ecm?

Its the Engine Control Module. Easiest way to put it the brain of the bike.. Controls the fuel mapping etc.
