Need some opinions

I am looking at buying a 98 GSXR 750 with 11K miles on it. He said it had a salvaged title, but it was due to a theft and no damage is done to the bike. He states it has all the original skirts and all the ID numbers match. I am getting it for $3000, and it looks sweet. Is there anything i should check for, this is my first crotch rocket and wanted a used one before i jumped onto a new one. Do you think this would be a good deal for my first sport bike? Is there anywhere i should check for damage or any signs i should look for on a used bike. He said i can ride it first, so i dont think he is trying to hide anything. What ya think?
