So when I ride and hammer on the gas the engine makes a weird vibration type noise that sounds very mechanical. Traction control can be on or off. It’s a very consistent and repeatable noise in every gear at or around 7-10000rpm, only when I’m really heavy on the throttle and then back through decel. Is it those little ball bearings of the vvt spinning outward and then back in?

Chain is good as well as properly adjusted clutch. I ride it again last night and it’s consistent at 9000 rpm. It’s the mechanical vvt. Something I’m not used to hearing. It can’t hardly be heard at a neutral rev because it revs so fast. during a pull though it lasts a tad longer.
