Hello My name is Mark:
I am new to the forum and new to racing bikes. I had a 07 GSXR with a stock Motor and extensions. I took it to the track a few times and got the bug to go faster.

I purchased a 08 Gsxr that was all done up just for drag racing. I have a few basic questions.

1.It has a Shinko Hook Up Drag Radial what PSI should I start with at the track?
2.The chain seemed really tight when I bought it, I loosen it up so it would have one inch chain slack. I noticed that the bottom of the swing arm looked like the chain was hitting it. Do I need to keep the chain tighter because of the swing arm and gearing? What would be a good rule of thumb?
3. I want to install a two step what should I use?

Thanks,

Welcome.

I know little, if anything, about drag bikes but over-tight chains are the death of these bikes. You might have less of an issue with the stretch, but with a standard bike the chain tightens a lot with rider weight or when the rear squats down on a bump. There are many stories of the chain failing and putting holes in the engine at the same time.

Just a thought, but how about gluing some type of plastic to the swing arm to protect it?

I have no idea about #1 and #3 but there are drag bike guys here.

I run 15psi in mine, not sure about a 2 step. If anything I'd use a MSD
