Hi All,
I'm new to the forum, have just bought a 98 gixer 750 my second bike since passing my test in Dec08, my first bike was a kwaka zx7r 97 plate, was a good first bike but I had a problem when she got hot, she used to die on me on pull away, so she had to go, now I'm over the moon with the gixer, what a bike, she's as mad as a hat full of rabbits, totally awesome, she's only done 1800 miles so she is as good as new, yes 1800 miles and has a full service history regardless of not doing any miles, the best bit is I only paid £900 plus my kwaka for her, what a bargain don't you think? I'm totally in love with her already and I've only had her for 2 days, if this is anything to go by, I can't wait till I can afford a brand new machine and yes it will be a suzuki but till then I will work my way up through all of the gixer models from this 750 onwards, well I hope to post some pics of her soon so that you can all see her. Cheers

dude, welcome to the site! i actually owned a 98 gixxer 750 exactly like that one. it was a nice transition bike from my 500 to my 1000. i had a problem with it not reving over 8g's in gear, but ok with the clutch pulled in or in neutral. it also got to the point where it wouldn't barely go over 120 mph. and the plastic (carbon fiber) looking air intakes cracked and broke where they mount through the fairing into that little bracket. it had a lot miles on it. and it got rode hard and put away wet quite a bit before i got my hands on it. heck i bought my k7 1000 brand new may of 08 and i already have 5400 miles on it and 5100 of those were put on in the 08 riding season so for your bike to have that low of mileage on it is really incredible and a awesomely unusual find.congrats!!!

Nice bike, and a heluva deal. I'm a big fan of older bikes with low miles. Guy down the road has an older 1000, with the two round headlights (not sure what year), I've been trying to talk him out of it, but he just laughs.

Congrats, and enjoy the addiction.

i have a 99 750 and i dont even look twice at newer bikes, all my friends think im nuts. i am well aware of all the newer technology advancements and weight reductions with newer models, i just cant get away from that big body. maybe its because i always date skinny girls so riding a fatty is a thrill for me :D

Thanks Guys,

I have spoken to a few people that have older bikes and they can't beleive what a great find it is too, I have already put on her 200 miles, 168 was today going to work and back, to show her off really, (they were all impressed too) It feels like I shouldn't be riding her and maybe put her in a vacuum pack and save her for prosperity, I couldn't stop grining though,, what a machine, weldone Suzuki, not sure I will ever part with her, even if I ever get a newer bike, I would love to put a new exhaust on her but a: not sure which one and b: would it spoil her, she is such a minter, please give me your thoughts or ideas.

Cheers again Guys
