i would take the pan off, double check to make sure it isnt cracked. if its ok... i would tap the original pan to a size bigger to a plug that will fit. jb weld and healicoil to keep oil in an expensive engine, not me...no way...my .02

and invest in a torque wrench, i believe its only like 16.5 ftlbs of torque for the oil drain bolt.

No one answered his question on the thread size and pitch so he cant really go buy a helicoil haha. Its 14mmx1.25
14mm is a pretty good size bolt I would think it would be closer to 5-6mm maybe 8mm max. I figured he would just take one of his bolts and use a thread gauge to get the pitch and a bolt gauge or even a nut to determine the size.

A heli coil is a much better way to go. The weld is going to be harder than the case. You will have no referance for the hole you need to drill. If you just put a heli coil in you already have a pilot hole and it will be as strong as the original. Heli Coils are used through the aircraft industry any aluminum parts have them installed from the factory. Do some checking if you do not believe me. They are very easy to install. I would not tell you something that is not true. Where are you located?
