Got a new chain and sprocket set for my k2 600.
Just looking at them side by side I noticed that the rear sprocket (Renthal) is not as thick as the front (JT).
Checked the front one with a vernier caliper against two other sprockets for a 525 chain and they all measured exactly the same at ~7.2mm which I gather is the standard.
The Renthal is about 0.5mm thinner which will mean that bit more room between the inner side plates and the sprocket for the chain to move about...
Just wondering if I might have a dud here or is this the norm?
:hmmm:

I just did my sprocket and chain. Went with a RK 520 chain and Vortex steal sprocket. I didn't pay any attention to sizes. I can't see .5mm making any difference though. Each brand is probally slightly different.

Thanks.
Crossed my mind about the 520 thing...
It's stamped with the correct code and that but I definitately want to be sure before I put it on the bike.
Need it all sorted by the weekend as I'm at Donnington Park for a trackday beginning of next week...

The difference between a 520 and a 525 series sprocket is .5/8" or about 1.5 mm in width, so my guess is it is just different manufacturing tolerances.
+1 This is what I thought but wasn't sure of tolernaces, but I knew it was more the .5mm
