Someone told me that slash cut exhaust are known to blow motors because they don't have any back pressure like the canisters? Is there any truth to this?

false,but you wont see much of a performance gain fitting a slash cut style exhaust......

I never heard of a blown engine I have just heard they are extremely loud and borderline irritating
