I have a question. My brother just bought k7 1000 just like mine but a different color yesterday, we were out in the country and i topped it out and the speedo would only read up to 174 and i know from factory they usually go all the way up to 186 cause mine does. So do you guys think his bike could already have a speedo healer installed on it? Where can i look to check and see if it does? I know this sounds like a noob question he just doesnt wanna waste his money and already have one on it!! TIA :thumbup:

follow the speed sensor wires, check to see where they go. the speed sensor is on the front sprocket.

look under the passenger seat/rear cowl as 99% of people will put the speedo healer box back there after the install. Does it also have stock gearing?

Stock speedo should be only about 5 mph off the actual reading, as far as it will read that you are going faster then what you actually are, even cars are the same, they all read faster, idk if it is a safety thing, but with the healer you should be accurate.
