I just ordered new chain and rear sprocket was too busy riding to remove the front cover to see how many teeth I was running up front. I just counted 16 and bought a 47 rear....Is this gonna be an alright configure??? Or should I go ahead and drop one in front???

so thats just gonna be a +2 on the rear right?? what year/model are you running??

Sounds like you have a sixxer. If so, most people go with a -1 front and +2 rear but I know guys with just +2 in the rear that can pop the badest wheelies on a sixxer I've ever seen and get better gas mileage doing it.
-1 in front is the equivalent of +3 in the rear so....
