It all comes down to the rider. Im a fan of all the drag bikes just cuz I love straight line. But Ive seen guys with 600 juiced knock off guys with 1000's just because they cant ride the 60 ft worth of sh*t.
i have owned both now, and stock to stock, they are very close in mph. if a busa or a 14 and a 1000 lined up against each other, the winner didn't win because of what bike they had. They won because someone was a better rider.
The new generation 1000s are Fast out of the box with little riders. Put a turbo on them and they are killing it on the strip.
That being said size does matters. The clutch, cylinders, suspension ect. are smaller on the 1000. Yes you can take advantage of the power to weight ratio of the 1000. However you will probably spend more money in the long run.
The Busa and 14 were designed to beat on.
The 1000s were road course designed to keep up a fairly constant speed. Both have advantages to them.
There is an old saying in drag racing "there is NO replacement for displacement".
Basically what Im saying is there all fast but I dont think one is more dominante than the other. I think where this becomes a factor is when you add aftermarket parts. And then that becomes a matter of who ever has the deepest pockets!
