Well guys,

I sold my GSXR1000 a bit ago and bought a new ride.
I went to the zx14 instead of the busa. I test rode both and they were the same.

Thought Id share some pics. Im still a suzuki lover when it comes to the 1000's though.

Thats the best part, Im leaving it because Im eating my own words!!!!

I rode the busa and the 14 and I ended up liking the 14's looks better. And it was more up right and thats pretty much what sold me.

The local Kawi dealership knows my shop is nothing but zooks and so when I took delivery of this they had all the employees gather round and give a standing ovation. Saying something to the point that its nice to see a suzuki fan get a clue.

I laughed and said this maybe true right now for this year but keep in mind there is no way Id consider a kawi when it comes to the liter bikes.

So I sit here laughing at my signature now!:bounce

I have a chance to pick up a zx14 for a grand. It's been at my brothers buddies dads shop for over a year. The chasis is cracked and needs new plastic it was in a crash and he towed it and had a mechincs lean on it and now got the title and he only wants what he's got into it.So i was thinking of picking it up for a drag bike only but after looking on kawi forums it looks like the gixxer 1000 is almsot faster in the 1/4 mile so having second thoughts.

If I had a second choice in brand I would definately go Kawi. But I liked the zx10 from like 06-07, Im still kinda iffy on the new ones.

ZX14 do appeal to me more than the new Busa, But I would love an "old school" Busa.

It all comes down to the rider. Im a fan of all the drag bikes just cuz I love straight line. But Ive seen guys with 600 juiced knock off guys with 1000's just because they cant ride the 60 ft worth of sh*t.

i have owned both now, and stock to stock, they are very close in mph. if a busa or a 14 and a 1000 lined up against each other, the winner didn't win because of what bike they had. They won because someone was a better rider.

The new generation 1000s are Fast out of the box with little riders. Put a turbo on them and they are killing it on the strip.
That being said size does matters. The clutch, cylinders, suspension ect. are smaller on the 1000. Yes you can take advantage of the power to weight ratio of the 1000. However you will probably spend more money in the long run.
The Busa and 14 were designed to beat on.

The 1000s were road course designed to keep up a fairly constant speed. Both have advantages to them.

There is an old saying in drag racing "there is NO replacement for displacement".

Basically what Im saying is there all fast but I dont think one is more dominante than the other. I think where this becomes a factor is when you add aftermarket parts. And then that becomes a matter of who ever has the deepest pockets!

And the reason I switched to the big bore heavier bike was because my pocket book could not keep up with the required mods for high hp on a 1000. I wanted something that didnt require alotta of cash to get a high hp bike. Something I could depend on with half the hastle.

Fyi I have had my fair share of kills against Busas and 14's but then I have also had my ass handed to me by those same bikes as well.
