So I just got a new thermostat and want to change it out. Now when I take off the thermostat cover and thermostat is any coolant going to come out? Because I just change my coolant and the last thing I want to do is lose coolant and or have to flush it again just for the thermostat.

yes it will, drain the fluid from the hose by the water pump in a clean pan and re-use it when your done.
