so i have a weird situation on my 02 1k, after its warmed up if i rev it up over 5k it seems to hang up there and not drop off like normal. it also seems to do the same if you driving with it in the same rpm range. the throttle it self isn't sticky it seems to maybe be something in the throttle bodys?

sticky throttle can be potentially dangerous yo. yank the tank and air box and clean your throttle bodies, as well as replace the throttle cable and throttle return cable. make sure the spring is still in place on on the throttle body actuator thingamajig that your throttle cable hooks to on the left side of the intake. you dont wanna end up a greasy smear on the highway....

if your actual throttle is not getting suck open and the motor is just revving with the throttle closed i would say you have an air leak somewhere between you airbox and your carbs. Prob your carb boots or something...had this prob with my cousins gpz750 had to replace the intake boots and clamps

its not that its auctually sticking. if i rev it up with the fuel tank propped up you can see what looks like a secondary throttle actuator move in and bump up the throttle at the 5000rpm mark. then when you let off the gas it slowly backs down, just not as fast as the normal throttle let off....i think its the stva valve?
