There is a freeplay adjustment, but your cable is probably binding and needs to be lubed. I haven't had this problem with mine yet so I don't know the best way to go about lubing it. I'd probably shoot some WD 40 (or better yet, Dupont Teflon lube) down both cable carriers. Obviously you would have to disconnect them from the throttle assembly first.

Also check the routing to make sure the cables aren't binding.

All,

Is there any adjustment I can make to my throttle to make it less touchy. The bike lurches (in a bad way) as soon as I engage the throttle. Any thoughts?

I have a 2006 750.
get rid of your set valve and do half ass pair mod...will smooth out the throttle...try the set valve first...will def help
