Ok so my buddy has a bike and he went to the S.O.S websiteput the vin number in and in a section that says Lienholder... Its marked yes... My question is does that mean there is a Lien on the title?

If your buddy financed the bike, then the financial institution is the lienholder. If your buddy bought the bike outright, any liens on the title from the previous owner should have been cleared before the title was transferred, so in that case I might suspect either an error in entering the VIN (a digit off would mean somebody elses' bike) or an error on the site.

Ok nevermind... I just looked on the title for myself and it does its a lien from the place it got financed from.. But about half way down theres a spot where it says about the release of the lien and its signed and stamped from that financial company... so that should be fine I guess. He is going to go and register it

yeah when I bought used one time he had the title in hand and it had the lein holder on it. I had to send it to the lein holder and they stamped, signed and sent a letter of release back to me with it. And when I registered it a few weeks later it was clean and had my info on it. If its signed off on he should be good.
