As those of you who have lifted a K8 to L0 tank on its hinge will know, the tank trim interferes with the seat piece, it will scratch and maybe crack it if you don't flick out the plastic from under the tank.

It seems to be a 'bug' in the design which I think was fixed L1 on.

Anyway, top tip! How to both protect the seat trim AND stop it flicking back under the tank just when you thought it was safely out from under the tank (as you lift it up and 'crunch') ...

.. use empty toilet roll centres, and pop them over the trims either side!

To be known forthwith as the QRO tank tip!

You can't take it off the tank, it is glued on. It's velcro after 2011, but not before.

You lucky non-K8-to-L0 owners, life must come so easy to you!! You have a poor attitude for things you don't know or understand!

And it's not quite enough just to flick it out like on that video, you can still here the plastic creaking and groaning as the guy lifts the tank .. and the panels also fall back under the tank on full lift so you have to ... oh, it's a mess, really, if you have done this you will know.

Really, it is a piece of bad design. Not sure the logic for it but they figured it out in the next model. Anyone who has done this on this model will understand why the toilet roll tubes will help.
