Hi guys

I have only about 8000 miles on a Vortex sprocket would this be considered normal were for an aluminum sprocket on a gsxr 1000?

Anyone with a longer lasting brand?

Also I have gone 1 tooth down on the front sprocket/

Would going up 2-3 for the rear be to much?

any aluminum sprocket on a GSXR 1000 isn't going to last you longer than 8000 miles. Unless you try the Sprocket specialist with Titan Tough harding. You gotta think about the power of the 1000 with aluminum which is an extremely light weight metal.

sprocket specialist also has a pretty cool one called the stealth I think it is. It has an aluminum carrier, with steal teeth riveted to it, similar to your brake disks

good luck getting a spocket from sprocket specialist almost everything is on a 2 month backorder..motos right the SS series are badazz w/ some (ski) titan tough on it. oh and GRAND i wouldn't recomend -1front/+3 or 4 rear. espeacially not on a 1K, i went -1F/+1R on my 600 and the rear tire always want's to break loose so that would have to be way worse on a 1K.

That shit happens on a 1K with stock gearing. I am always breaking my rear loose.
