If that's were the case then everybody that does a wheelie on a motorcycle would crash becaue your front wheelie does stop spinning after a few seconds due to the drag of the brake pads unless you install full floating buttons.

He slaps the front down because it's getting squirrely in the wheelie. Watch close, the bike twists under him on the way down, he basically sets it down leaned over and you can see the rather obvious results of pulling that particular trick.....
