Anyone experienced an oil leak on the left side of your bike from the screw at the bottom of the water pump? I was riding a couple weeks ago and parked at the church I was visiting, and one of the people in there told me to go outside an look at my bike. Sure enough, there was a nice stream of oil coming out from that screw at the bottom of the water pump.. after my bike emptied almost the ENTIRE motor-full of oil into the pavement, I towed it home and did some research. Seems like I'm not the only person who has had this, and the leaks other people have had range from a nuisance slow drip to an urgent breach- like mine. Upon my reading it seems like the culprit is the #8 (or #9?) O-ring from the water pump assembly. I have the new ring and will be trying it out today/tomorrow but I'm interested if any of y'all have had this on their GSX-Rs. I've already pulled the pump and there were no obvious failure points in the gasket, but it may just be old and flattened it a bit... It's hard to tell.youjizz pornhub tubegalore



Relevant info: K7 600, bought like 3 weeks ago with 35k miles. I had just replaced the oil and filter, flushed the radiator as well and put a fresh bottle of engine ice in. There was NO COOLANT in the oil that was leaking out, not the remaining oil that I drained before pulling the water pump. It was straight up 10W40 I'm almost certain... Want must or anything.

Welcome.

There were a number of similar oil leaks a few years back but I have not seen any recent posts.

The most common source is what you suspect, the #9 o-ring that seals the pump assembly to the engine case. Easy fix.

Less common is the actual oil seal in the pump itself. As you saw in the parts diagram, there are two seals, an oil seal and an water seal. There is a weep hole in the housing between these so it is impossible for any leak to contaminate the other system. You will see the weep hole easily when you pull the pump out.

Change the o-ring first and see if it fixes it. It is quick and cheap.

Do be careful that the water pump drive shaft slot is aligned with the oil pump drive shaft tang in the engine. The pump should slide in all the way with little pressure. Some have damaged the oil pump by not paying attention to this.

The OP must have had his bike really leaned over to leak that much. That O-ring used to be about the same price as the larger O-ring that seals to periphery of the pump. Now it costs about four times as much but its part number has not been updated and it's not in an area where the service requirements are severe, i.e. I expect it to be a fairly ordinary part using either nitrile or viton compound. So I don't know what's going on with the price. Also the weep hole is not shown in any service manual that I have and it's commonly not shown in pictures of the pump. I added it to my version of the K5/K6 1000 service manual.

P.S. This (Buna-N) and this (viton) are of a similar size and provide some perspective on Suzuki's markup.

So I got a b7 A4 in the no so distant past. Had oil channel lodging release, fixed that. Had a stuck indoor regulator, fixed that. I didn't have the foggiest idea about the history on the vehicle so I got another water siphon/crankshaft belt from a nearby audi shop and supplanted those. It appeared to be sufficiently basic, until the water siphon began spilling.
Odd, you talking about and Audi?
