i want to still be able to ride it on the street but also take it to the track. More track than street though. I havent ran it yet so i dont know what it runs. hopefully with a good launch somewhere in the 9's. It should be all back together this weekend. Let me know what else i can do.

If I'm not mistaken, that stretched arm isn't going to get you real far unless by "track" you mean drag strip...
What about fancy new levers, rear sets, carbon fiber parts, upgraded clutch, stainless lines, upgraded pads and rotors... Can you get a PC3 map for nitrous bikes?

i just started drag racing at the track and i ride my bike every day to and from work and where ever else i wanna go. you could see what i got and i have no problems. i only went once so far this year with new parts and i hit 10.4 sec's in really cold windy conditions. i know i will break into the 9's and im not extended. im stock wheel base just lowered about 2 inches. i think all that extra "crap" u got like extensions wont help you. the whole race is based upon your first 60 feet. it you could lay it balls to the wall and launch like a bat outta hell then u will hit mid 10's to 9's. i dont recommend riding in the street based upon your 8 inch stretch. also i see you have nitrous, as far as i know no drag strip will let you race with nos unless you have a "DIAPER" which you didnt state in your above post. and just so you know that when you have a "DIAPER" you need a sidewinder exhaust because a regular exhaust that goes just under your oil pan WILL CATCH YOUR DIAPER ON FIRE!!!!!. GOOD LUCK AND PLEASE POST YOUR TIMES. i see ur a noob to this site and i am willing to help you out as much as possible.

extensions wont help him????? you have got to be kidding.I have had two 1ks a 03 and a 02 with the same mods but the 02 had 6" extension and a little less power. The 03 I could only run a 10.15 cause of the wheelie factor. the 02 had less power and ran 9.6.


you can run nitrous on most tracks without a diaper. Some tracks make you run a diaper when you times get low enough .

You wont have any problems running in the nines:thumbup: you got all the basics covered minus a full exhaust.I think with enough seat times low nines shouldn't be a problem.. good luck and let us know how you do

Might want to lower and strap it...? Keep the clutch adjusted, every 3-4 passes at least. Keep as much air in the tires as possible. Let air out for traction 2lbs at a time. Leave your pussy lips at home. :bounce

The 1K's come with a titanium header from the factory, a yoshi header is only gonna give you about 1-4 hp. And thats dyno proven on my bike. Imo, its not worth the extra 500 bucks, unless you just have it laying around. Spend it on a a strap and some rear sets. Or maybe up your suspension with a new rear and internals in the front. Just some options.

Oh, and the extensions will def help.

every bike I owned has had one and you will feel the difference no doubt.aftermarket headers flow alot better over stock



my 03 with a yosh slip on made 144hp and then I installed Hindle full exhaust and got 152hp.

Take them to the track and see the difference. It may have only picked up 1-4 peak hp, but it increases power all across the powerband with a full exhaust.

totally disagree. the stretch really helps keep the front end from popping up as much. and helps for a harder launch to a faster 60ft depending on how he rides on street its not a problem, i ride mine on street stretched 8".
