I have a 92 gsxr i just bought off a buddy and i changed gas tanks and now i have a problem starting the bike it turns over but wont fire up. when trying to start up the bike after a couple turns it back fires. dose any one know what my problem could be.

did it run before you swapped the tanks? how long has the bike sat before it was run??

soiunds fuel related, make sure your gettin gas to your carbs.

Make sure that you put the hoses on right and make sure that ya have the reserve switch on because if you do not have enought gas in it it will not start? One more thing put the old tank back on see if it starts up and if so then you know that your problem is in the fuel tank.

im not sure if it ran before i swaped tanks but i heard that im getting to much fuel might be that my carbs are full. To drain the float bowl. Could this be it?

what could go wrong with a gas tank?

Your float should shut off the fuel from gettin to full in the bowl, sounds like they need to be readjusted then

it almost sounds like you might have the spark plug caps in wrong?
