Hi guys, been a long time browser but need some help to figure out an issue with radiator fan.
Recently had an issue where fan refuses to turn on, let bike go to almost 230F still no fan.... checked fan motor by putting 12V to it and the fan works. Also checked the line going to the fan and it reads 0V when the temperature is below ~220 and above 220 it reads 12V. I'm super confused by this... I thought that if that cable running directly into the fan is getting 12V at over 220 degrees then the fan would turn on the same way that it does when you run 12V directly to it... is this not the case?
I'm pretty handy, but can't seem to figure this one out. Is there something that is preventing the fan from turning on even though the cable to it measures 12V and the fan works with 12V direct? Any tips on what to check/how to check it would be greatly appreciated!
