Hi sorry, it's the first time I have been on her. I have never used a forum before so excuse me I was not being rude.
I did read that link but the STVA seems to be working but I can't seem to get rid of the error.

not sure if our bikes work like cars but have you tried just pulling the battery cable to clear the code and if you are still getting the code then I'd say something is wrong. it's been a few years since I had to go thru that issues and I'm pretty sure I just ended up swapping mine out as the fix.

 

Thanks mate, the guy who had it before me put a new engine in and there was no engine bolts holding it in so I really hate to imagine what it is but she runs fine.

The thread that gixxer996 referenced is some of the best information on the STVA / C28 issue which is not uncommon with the K4/K5 gsxrs.

Chuckster is the guru on these systems.

If you are still getting the code, the ECM still thinks it has a problem as it generates a new code and sends it to the cluster each time the fault happens. Otherwise the code automatically is cleared from the cluster each time the ignition is turned off.

It could just be a matter of adjustment. I'm sure you have no idea what the previous owner has been tinkering with.
