Oh yes, I know exactly what they are talking about. Its sucks big hairy moose cock!! Makes me feel like I don't know how to ride. It's supposed to be the slipper clutch that makes it jerky while going slow. Mine only does it after the bike has warmed up. When the temp is below 160 everything is fine. I try to keep the bike in 4th when doing about 35 mph, it helps a bit. The other thing I found is to roll off the throttle completely, instead of just trying to slow down 1 or 2 mph at a time.

 

There is a petition the is being formed-don't know if it's going to do any good, but you may want to be added to it. It's on www.gixxer.com and look in the K6/K7 section. Anyone else?

 

I have noticed this as well... I assumed it was due to the timing retardation in lower gears and have thought about installing a TRE. Is that not the problem?

 

i had that problem. ive added a TRE and the R1 throttle tube and adjusted my throttle cables. now i have no problems.

 

No, many others have tried to eliminate or purchase new products to see if certain devices were faulty with no avail. Some think it may have to do with the cat but haven't found a solid remedy to this problem. Others have noticed this problem since day one and their GSX-R's are bone stock. Others thought it may be because of the set or PCIII with a bad map, and still others thought that it may be due to the TPS and the secondary paired vales none of which has helped this problem. I'd urge for those that have this problem to add your name to this petition so that you can find a solution to this.

I had that feeling when I first got the bike but now I don't even notice it.

My used to jerk pretty bad, like really hard sudden compression braking feeling when I was coming down through 6k RPM. And then when giving it gas when it heppened, getting jerked the other way. Is this what you guys are talking about? It happened the worst after I changed my oil at about 1000 miles when I got done putting on the new exhaust, air filter, and PC, and got it off the dyno. I looked and it turned out I had too much oil in the bike. I drained it to the proper level (level is now half way between markers on the window, checked as per instructions in the manual), and it doesn't happen anymore.

 

That reminds me, mine was doing that pretty badly at low speeds, then I changed the oil at around 2500 miles and I haven't noticed it happening since.

 

its hard to apply smooth throttle if that what you mean, if i am using the engine brake, and then want to re apply throttle, if i dont do it easy, it will jerk and you can hear the tranny click, I got the pc 3 and its much smoother now, but still does it

 

Same deal with me. This is my first bike so I don't know if that is normal but if this is what you guys are talking about then I am experiencing it as well.

 

According to what other's describe, it's a problem when holding the throttle or closing the throttle around 4500-5000 RPM's. I couldn't really describe what other's are experiencing since this doesn't happen to mine. Just seeing if others are having this problem and to inform riders here with more info. on the subject. Again, if your bike is experiencing this problem you may want to look into the links I attached earlier and discuss it with others as to what it may be.

 

I have noticed this a little but not enough for me to care or spend money to fix.

Mine doesn't have a problem at all.

 

The latest copy of Sport Rider talks about how the driveline lash on the K7 600 makes it very difficult to ride smoothly around town, I'm glad I'm not the only one that has trouble riding my bike (K6 750) smoothly despite great effort on my part.

 

Mine is a little jerky in traffic but who cares? It isn't like it pulls the front wheel every time it jerks or anything.

Was my old f3 smoother...yes. Hell it even had more midrange. But once you get in on the gixxer mmmmmmm. Plus it handles crazy awesome so I will take my jerky throttle.

 

My k6 has that exact problem, it's quite annoying but I can live with it.

Its worse if you have a very loud exhaust like my two bros. you can hear that throttle cut out from a mile away, and then back on.

I guess I will just have to deal with it, it is really annoying tho. I read some forums on gixxer.com about this issue and they are doing a very intense investigation to try and figure out how to get it to go away for good. They are getting there.

While mine hasn't been doing it since I changed the oil (anyone else noticed that), I'm more concerned about it cutting out in a low speed corner than making me look like a squid. If the bike is leaned and I'm using the throttle to balance it out, a sudden cut-out would be a Bad Thing.

 

you guys need to adjust your throttle slack. Not just from under the throttle but you need to adjust the cables coming from the motor.

 

Check your oil level first



Hawk3 its not the throttle cables. This is the best way I have seen this explained. Hold your throttle constant, then hit the engine cutoff switch quickly off then on. That is how the bike feels. I have been riding for almost 10 years and this my 3rd bike. A lot of people want to say rider error and not accept this bike may have a glitch. So far the best advice is to check the oil level and lower it a bit. Since I am due an oil change that is my next step. I'll post results soon.

 

Mine has a tendency to "fall" all the way off the gas when decelerating slowly, or driving slowly(around 35mph or less) at a constant speed through neighborhoods an such. It's almost like the secondary butterflies are slamming shut at very little throttle. It only started about 4000 miles ago.

It's kinda starnge, since the bike was running great with several things unplugged. (hahahaha)

It turned out that the Dynojet tuner, Sabin Performance, left the second set of injectors unplugged and the TPS unplugged after the initial dyno tuning from the cams, exhaust, PC3 work. I found all the plugs loose and plugged them in...

Now the bik has much more power, but has very bad fueling in slight throttle conditions.

 

i have a 600k7 with only 411 miles on the clock and has similar if not the same problem. it mainly happens between 3,500 and 4,500 rpm, on changing up through the gearbox itll give a missfire sound or blowback splutter kind of a sound at the gearchange interval. also when steadily driving along for no reason it will will lose power for say a 1/4 to a 1/2 second and make the same sound etc and then return to normal. its done this straight out of the dealers and on every ride ive taken on it. the dealers are going to have a look at it on its 600 mile service. from what ive been reading on this and the gixxer forum this isnt just confined to my bike etc.

 

Hmm just curious, have any of you guys checked your airfilter?

Check to see if theres oil blow in there. I heard its not good to put too much oil in the K6 K7. Thats what I heard from this mechanic. Don't over do it, cause when you lean the bike your going get oil in your airbox.

But if he's full of shit i'm never going there again. LOL.

 

I changed the air filter on mine. I also looked to see if I had any oil in the airbox at all. Anywhere in the box, at the opening of the breather tube, etc on 3 different occasions. Not a single drop of oil, and I had a good amount too much oil in it (I realized later). Once I drained the oil to the proper level, the jerking problems stopped on my bike.

 

Mine does it too, but I dont really even notice it that much any more. I guess I've just gotten used to it. Doesnt really bother me.

 

For the record my brand new K7 GSX-R600 does the same thing.
