The mods that I have to my bike that will affect H.P. are the following:

BMC Air Filter - YOSH TRS Slip-On, Hindle Header - Shortened Mid-Pipe.

The results were: 97.19 Horsepower & 41.78 Torque.

The guys that have done this are located in Morris, IL. They are,

Very good people to work with. They schedule by appointment only. If you are in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, this is the place to go. They are DynoJet certified and will make sure you leave with a smile on your face. Priced as reasonable as you will find anywhere else.

According to Sport Rider magazine when they did the '04 write up it is. They measured it at 103.2. I know it's low but before the Hindle exhaust I was at 94.3 and before the PCIII I was at 90 something. I have issued letters to Suzuki but as always...nadda. So, I'll keep trying.

You guys are barking up the wrong tree here. I can't stand it when someone says they got 97 HP after a dyno and some mapping or mods and then someone chimes in and says "isn't that low?". Before you do any mods to your bike, get off your wallet and get a baseline dyno run done. It will show what your bike is doing as far as HP/torque and the "dips" and flat spots in the chart. When you get some work done you now have a basis to compare to. You should always use the same dyno (if you trust that the tech. knows what they are doing) because dynos vary in their numbers. One dyno may read low numbers and some will read high. The end result is what you are looking for. Sure, we all want gains right? If all this guy got was 97HPs after some mods, his first dyno pull before the mods could have been 93 or 94 Hps. This guy would have gained in the end. Just like if he had pulled a 101 then did the mods and got a 104 it's still the same gain.

I just had mine on the DYNO last week and I put down 102.59 Hp and 44.16 ft-lps. I think the magazine was off cause my buddy had his K4 and it only put down 96 HP. Also the guy that ran the DYNO said that 102 was good ofr a 600, and he has done more than a few 600's. Here is the dyno run pic of the PDF.

Couldnt have said it any better myself. Thats exactly what the Eastern Motorcycle Shop (Ross) told me. Unfortunitly I had my mods done already.

Nice chart Vassago...nice and smooth with no flatspots/dips. Did you have a custom map made? Your bike pulled strong all the way up to 13.5k  .

This is my chart. My baseline was 89.6 on a dynojet machine that was a model older then the one I went to this time. But MAN I agree with you in your comments but can I be that far off with my mods compared to others with the same mods? Even stock, compared to others my bike seems low. How does anyone know if in fact they did get a "lemon" when the numbers are from one extreme to the other? I'm new to this and just asking.

Not sure how you check for a lemon, but my boy with a 04 600 stock other than a bolt on pipe on the same DYNO i ran on pulled 96HP. The DYNO that we ran on just had its modual sent back to DYNOJET or what ever its called to check for callibration and it was on the money. But like YouDaMan said all DYNO's are different, atleast you seen a power gain. on my first run with the bike cold you can see that it ran a 97.81 at 42.43 then as the bike warmed up to temp and the true power came through. I also didnt start lossing power till my bike hit over 200 degrees. One question what gear did he do the DYNO run in on your bike?

In your chart you have a bad dip or "flatspot" right at 3k and continuing over 4k (this is typical in GSXR 600's and mine had the same when it was stock). I bet if you rode your bike steady at 3k rpm and tried to hit the throttle you would get a sluggish throttle response...as if the bike hesitated a little. You need to try to get that out and smoothen it up like in Vassago's chart. I doubt your bike is a "lemon". To give yourself some peace of mind you can find another rider with a GSXR 600 who has "good" numbers (102-105HP is a good range if the bike a similiar mods) and find out where he/she got their dyno numbers from. Then take your bike there and pay to just have a HP/torque run ($40-ish, maybe cheaper on a bike night or shop special $25-ish) that way you can see if the dyno you used is just reading low.

No custom map just the map from PC website. I was very happy with the results and surprised to see that my power gains didnt start dropping untill it got to about 199 201 degrees in temp. The tech that ran the DYNO run told me not to change a thing with the map.
You got lucky  . Most internet maps are shit. I wouldn't change the map either.

did mine at Road Atlanta last weekend had 98.6 with a bone stock 05. i don't know if that helps or not. a guy done his right after me he had a 05 with a yoshi bolt on and had 103 something. but no two bikes are the same. a friend of mine went with me on his 05 1000. you know the one they say has 162 well his had 149.4 so the moral of the story is don't believe everything you read.

Specs listed in magazines are never true. Hp numbers, Tq numbers, 1/4 mile times, all crap. They are all perfect condition perfect world numbers. Does your bike feel slower now that you know its less than 100 when before you thought it was over 100? Hellz no (unless you're retarded). Moral of the story is, get a base line, on the same dyno, and try to meet the same conditions (temp, humidity, etc). Thats when you'll see what all the money you put into the bike does...

I saw in a mag the zx 10 outdo the k5 1000 by .1 of a hp on a dyno so it got hp honors. I find most mags lame but as I see them all the time there's nothing but k5 1000 tattoed all ova the front covers. Must be a hint. Anyways thats life.

Well, it's posts like that which make me wonder about my numbers. Trust me when I tell you I am not doubting my tuners. Nor am I doubting anyone's advise here about stock numbers to mod numbers. I have increased h.p. since stock. My whole basis for this is the "stock" number and how those can be so off. Guess the numbers are a little boggling.
I've seen that video before too. I watched all of them because I considered that pipe. The drive-by one is really good.
