Thank you for listening...
I need help trying to understand what could do "this" to my new battery. I have an 00 gixxer 600 that I just bought from my friend with 1300 miles on it. It sat for 2 years so I just put a new battery on it. After maybe an hour or so of driving, over the course of 1 week or so, it had difficulty starting one night. I eventually made it home and the next day it was completely drained. I jumped it on my car, which I now know is a big no no, it started but when I took the cables off from the car, it idled for 20 seconds or so and died out. I then bought a battery tender/charger and have been trying to bring it back to health for about 36 hours now. I should have done this before but I put a volt meter on it last night and it was at 6-6.5volts, after another 10hours it's about about 7volts.

So, a couple of questions, why is it taking so long to charge, what could have drained it that far down, and what next???? Thanks a million.
I have tried a search but can't find this exact issue..

If it's just a battery tender many of them are designed to maintain a charged battery and not recharge it. You could have a bad battery. If you have a different charger try that or take the battery to a local auto parts store and have it tested. Then when you get a good battery in the bike make sure the charging systen is working.
