Do you have an owners manual for it? There will be instructions in there.

 

Owners manual, yes. Service manual, no.

 

Half way between the two bolts it snaps into place with the top faring half. It helps for the plastic to be a warm room temp/not cold. Don't want to snap any tabs off.

Yeah I try to go as straight out (toward me) as I can though I think I do pull the bottom out a bit further. Feels like you're going to break it but like mentioned you probably don't want to be doing it if it's super cold.

 

Ok thanks. I can't get past the point where it feels like it's going to break because it's a $500 mistake if it snaps.

50-60 degrees in the garage. I'm assuming you're talking about weather colder than that.

 

You can likely get your hand in behind and feel around a bit. Once you do get it off put a drop of lubricant on the rubber and it will play a little nicer next time.

 

I get my finger behind the stud between the tabs to help push it out then swing the bottom of the fairing up & out a little the with a little tug down to help dislodge the two plastic tabs. Putting it back is kind of the opposite of that. If the shop is below 70F I'm pointing the little electric heater in it's direction for a couple of hours to let it all warm up.
