Ok so first new to site. New to bikes. I'm extremely handy with large motors.
So I just bought a 02 GSX R600 m (telefonica edition)
Bought from a friend. Said it runs rich.
I get it home fire ot up and yup its rich.
So rich it has fouled the new ish plugs already. All 4 of them. No clogs in intake or exhaust. Exhaust isn't stock but I don't know what brand. It's not registered yet so I have not been able to ride it yet.
Started ok Friday. Sat is had a very hard time. Today it won't fire. Plugs are shot.

Why is it running so rich it fouls plugs wo fast? TPS need adjustment?

Look on the bike most likely under the rear passenger seat, see if you have a fuel injection control module (Power commander-ZFI etc.)
They go between your stock ECM computer and the fuel system.
Often they can be defective or simply mapped incorrectly.
If you do have one, unplug it and plug it back to stock and see if that fixes it.

P.S. Im disappointed, the title says "rich" and there's no money in here.

Could be multiple things. You could have fuel pressure that's too high, those injectors could be bad and are spraying too much fuel, your air filter could be saturated, you could have a fuel module with a screwed up tune, etc.

My first guess would be to check the hose connecting the intake air pressure (IAP) sensor with the throttle bodies. If it's cracked or loose, the IAP would see a higher manifold pressure than there actually is and richen the mixture.

Still working on the richness. But I have another question. This is the second time its happened. Key on N light works but no gauges no backlight and no headlights. Fuses and all wires seem to be ok. Last time this happened they all just randomly came back and worked fine

Not an uncommon problem on these older bikes. Check the big plug that connects all the nose electrics to the main harness.

Look for corrosion and loose connections. Pay particular attention to the Black with white stripe wire. That is the ground for all the components.

Yup. That fixed my gauge issue. Bad ground for front end. Was just slightly burned but enough to keep it from working properly.

Now back to my rich issue. My friend whom owned it last ( but never rode it) said he adjusted the choke. I didn't get a chance to look at that last night so hopefully I'll have time to tonight. Fyi it does run and act like choke is engaged. So maybe my problem? I hope. It runs so rich it backfires with ton of smoke. Its starting to frustrate me. O and sounds camed a little bit like a pushrod motor

New plugs again keeps fouling them out

New air filter

Adjusted TPS sensor to center in dealer mode. ( some how keeps changing to top)

All vacuum lines look good. No cracks split cuts ect

Butterfly's seem to work properly (not 100% positive though)

If I feel the butterflies aren't opening enough could a butterfly delete possibly lean it out a bit. I feel the my not be opening enough. ( 1/4 open after test. When key turned on)

Ok . Running like a champ now. Installed the original throttle bodys , fuel rail and injectors. ( luckily last owner still had them) put in new plugs ( again) changed the oil and adjusted the TPS sensor. Runs smoothly. No jitteriness in 1st st very low rpm. No black smoke and no fire out the tail pipe anymore!!
