with a tre what can the k7 do? how fast would you be going with stock gearing in 6th gear at 1375 rpm?

hahah if you could rev the bike out to 13750 in 6th....there is noooo way you could you would be right around 350km/h(218mph).

Hence i think if you gear it down you could probably go faster than it would with the stock tallllll gearing.

Out of superbike magazine they just did the very indepth 2007 1k shootout.
Top Speeds:
Gsxr - 166.24
ZX10R - 167.64
R1 - 165.66
1000RR - 161.10

It should be noted that the Gsxr is still the best in category by every magazine I've read.

Top speed isn't that important though ... I guess for bragging rights, but even on a track with a long straight you might touch top speed then instantly back the end into a corner :arsenal

Its the old fast vs quick thing.
Time to top speed:
Gsxr - 22.25
R1 - 24.00
ZX10R - 28.60
1000RR - 25.50

anyhow, theres your answer. As for how fast at what rpm, I don't feel like doing the math.

160ish seems kinda slow..i could be very wrong tho...i just put my GPS on my bike the other day but i havent bothered trying to top it out. Ill let you guys know what i find out if i get a chance.

Oh and this will be on private property in a controlled environment...

For the test they said that it was a very windy day, that would have a lot to do with the top speed.

Ya...thats what i figured. Like i said i will check it with GPS soon here. I wont have a camera on the bike so you will have to take my word for it. ive had it up to 277km/h indicated on the GPS before...that is 172mph.

Last night with a slight head wind i got it to 284km/h. that is 177mph. I could see it doing a little more as well. This was with GPS. Speedo read 299 after the GPS was reading 276

Cheers

Im still a squid, but some of those numbers seem kinda messed up guys? I took my k7 600 with two brothers exhaust out on a 3 mile stretch of flat road on blanco road and i got it up to 168mph before i chickened out. My friend also has a video of a 05 r6 with power commander, exhaust doing 181mph max speed.

Im not trying to fight, i just think 160 for a 1,000 is ridiculous?

If i had to bet money i bet my k7600 would do 170-175 with the wind in my favor. :hmmm:

I just dont get it man? Is there a explanation why they arent accurate...and how off are they? It doesnt make sense that suzuki would make a product that is no calibrated correctly...my gearing is stock....i know in the car world when you switch gearing you have to get a "yellow box" to adjust mileage and such....

so it says i go 165..how fast do you think i really am going? :hmmm:

Each speedo is off by a different amount. You can buy a speedo healer that will correct the problem. They are anywhere from 5%-10% off at top speed. So you were probably doing 155 give or take a couple. Mags have tested all the 600's using radar. Stock they run 158-162 again give or take a couple...
