Was this study done by AMSOIL? LOL

I have been using mobil 1 10w40 4T racing since 2000 in whatever bike I had. I can still get it for under 10 bucks a quart. The only place that sells the amsoil is 20 mins away and its over 13 bucks a quart and they aren't open late. Hard to justify when I can get the mobil 1, 5 mins from my house and they are open late. I tried the amsoil once, it was fine.

  • My 01 750 had 33/k+ miles when I sold her, still ran strong....
  • My 05 750 had 22/k+ miles when I sold her, zero issues........
Current bike is 07 750 only 10/k miles, all my 7 fiddys have hit the track several times. Mobil 1 has been used in all of them.

Both Good!!!

to tell you the truth i believe it was an independent study. i really wish i can find that thread it was in. i have been looking for it fore a few weeks now and cannot seem to find it..... i remember it was done in 09 thought.
I would have no problem switching to amsoil if it was cheaper and more convient for me to get. Both are awesome and would be the only 2 I would use in my bike. But honestly, I don't think you could go wrong with any full syn bike oil. Just change it regularly. Even tho I read a study that said 3/k miles is too soon too change syn oil in a bike. Even though it is black it still has plenty of life left. This study was done on track bikes too. It said we are wasting money changing the oil so soon. I have extended my oil changes to 5/k. I do a mix of track days and mountain twisty riding.

I just changed my oil went with Motul full synthetic 5-40 I believe. thats what the dude recommended. said he uses it in his race bike. finished it off with a K&N filter. about $90 oil change. damn that was expensive (compared to a car)

Thats what he recommended?!? Ill check to make sure thats what the weight is, i dont recall 100% but I think thats what it was. he is a well known respected bike mechanic here in SA so I just took his word for it.

Thank you Mister Tee, you had me really worried for a minute. I doubt he would do me wrong but yeah you had me scared. I was like fawkkk that crap cost me 60$ for the gallon and Im gonna have to buy some more asap. haha. I feel better now with you saying I should be okay. Ill go back to 10w40 next time around.

Amsoil 10w40 I buy it by the case for $150 oem filther. I've got a K7 1000 and as said the shifts are smoother! It's expensive but I think it's worth the extra coin.

maxima syn blend4 10w40 feels silky smooth

Same here. Been using Rotella for years and problem free. I use Suzuki filters.
T6 for life!! full synthetic for less than $25 FTW!!! I ride 1000rr on the street just got a 6k 750 and was wondering if anyone uses mobile one car oil filters? I know the conversion for my Honda but not this bike. Anyone??
