It may LOOK the same, but Exact?

Here's what Sport Bike Track Gears website says about them:

The original Hiflofiltro factory was founded in 1955 and has been manufacturing filters for the OEM motor industry since 1963.

With the experience of more than five decades, constant research and development and featuring a completely modern production facility,
  • Hiflofiltro offers some of the best-quality filters in the world
  • TUV approved and production monitored to ensure OEM or better quality
  • Constructed using the best materials available
  • One of the broadest ranges of aftermarket coverage
  • Heavy-duty steel casing features a welded hex nut for easier removal and installation
  • High-performance tri-fiber media for optimum filtration and consistent oil flow
  • Premium rubber relief valve for 100% seal
  • Compatible with all oil types
  • Manufacturer Part Number: HF138RC

That being said, thanks for the 'heads up', I'm going to try them

Edit: AND I read that K&N does have the same one with their name on it!
K&N's has the drilled not also? Then this one also must of had a recall for leaking around the nut, since K&N's did.

Race oils are usually formulated with less detergents and are not suitable for extended use.

K&N I believed used HiFlo supplier but at some point changed to a cheaper Asian supplier which seemed to correlate with the issues with leaks.

I like Redline oils. I'll use the 50wt race oil for a trackdays or two.

Thats my pick and what I'm going to run when the new bike turns up in August.

What you run is country dependent, some of the oils some recommend here are simply not available here.

Never had a problem with Mobil 1, ran it in a turbo sports car for 10 years, have owned it for 20 years and it still runs like new.

Rotella T6 K&N 138 filter. Have used it for about 40k Miles total and no problems. It’s a 5 weight so cold starts are easier on the motor but being thinner I change it at 2500-3000k Motul is great but I like to feel my clutch engage. Just too smooth for me plus it’s expensive changing out every couple thousand miles. Rotella is made by Shell and every person who knows gas well will tell you She’ll makes the best gas and I like knowing that expertise is being used with my oil.

Shell 'Bro'tella T6 40wt from Walmart w stock filter.

Ran Motul in my Busa and it burned off smoke under WOT. Mobil 1 did same in my Subaru Sti. Now Run T6 in both and no more low oil levels or burn off. I run Shells brand new T6 30wt multi-vehicle(gas or diesel spec for cats) in my new 4 runner special order through Oreillys.

T6 is cheap bc its the highest volume synthetic oil on earth designed for 18 wheeler fleets. good enough for USA fleets good enough for me. No need for $78 boutique oil.

Suzuki Ecstar r5000 10w-40 mineral oil for first oil & filter change then another cycle to 1500-2000 miles when I may to switch to full synthetic. Either r9000 or Mobile 1 4T

New 2018 GSX-R750 bought a week ago still breaking in & 270 miles on the odometer currently. It's been cold & raining a lot since I bought it Feb 15 2019

Raining since Feb 15th? Damn! Get your waders on!

Sounds good and congrats on the new 750. Hang on to it as they are going to quit selling then soon?

Molbil 1 4T has the JASO rating- you're good to go!

I remember when there was no such thing as motorcycle specific oil. That said now its Mobil1 10-40 for all the bikes and 5-30 for the car and van
I remember this too! At least I didn't know any better.
I always used good regular oil, and often times Valvoline Racing in my bikes crankcases.

Now I use the JASO religiously (beer drinking is a religion in my home)
And almost always Mobil 1 4T 10-40 (10-40 Cz that's what the manual says):devil

EDIT: Shoot, dammit, hell (that's what my Arizona cycle/triathelte friends would say when they would tease me about talking Texan)

I remember when Mobil 1 was about the ONLY truely synthetic oil (seemed like it used to be red colored?) Even now I'm pretty sure it's a blend.

Even oils that say 'full synthetic' i've researched/been told has dino oil in it as well these days.

Apparently, came from a law suit years ago when any modified oil could be called 'synthetic' even with dino oil? FWIW- I'm off today drinking homebrew at 10:00! :grin

I find it hard to believe they'd quit making the 750's but stranger things have happened. And yep, it's still raining now & calling for heavier rain thru the first half of tomorrow. Sucks when you're jones'in to ride the new bike!

Well I lied. LIED I tell ya!

And yes, somebody did in fact say beer. That isn't what I had but would...if driving wasn't in the near future.

But back to the lyin'. Said I was gonna use Ecstar r5000 for my 600 mile oil-change when in fact I put Valvoline 10w-40 JASO Mwhatever rated oil. Did it @499.9 miles too. Gonna put a hundred miles on it to flush out the break-in oil & micro-metal better.

Wanted to let y'all know cuz I know how much some of y'all are just dyin' to know when & what kind of oil yet another squid is using ;)

But hey, it's just a pre-oil change to the real by golly 600 mile oil&filter change anyway. For that the Ecstar is in shipment, so the day is saved.

The best part tho is now I can get in the 7,000-10,000 rpm range o'dat awesome throttle on these back country roads!
